American Cancer Society
The century-old group, which has had its share of fundraising struggles, is moving into the second year of its search to replace John Seffrin, who announced in January 2014 that he will retire when a successor is found. He’s been at the helm since 1992.
Kauffman Foundation
Expect the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to announce a new CEO in early 2015. This is the education and entrepreneurship grant maker’s second executive search since the January 2012 resignation of 10-year CEO Carl Schramm. The foundation says it’s looking for a leader—from a nonprofit or business—who can carry out a nearly completed five-year strategic plan, which includes, among other things, investments in metropolitan areas apart from its hometown of Kansas City, Mo.
