A federal judge has ruled against the Trump administration’s efforts to thwart diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools and universities. In a case that eventually may reach the U.S. Supreme Court, the judge declared the administration’s attempt to cut off billions of dollars in federal funds to educational institutions that engaged in “illegal D.E.I.” was an unconstitutional threat to educators’ free speech rights in the classroom and had not followed proper procedure. The administration will likely appeal. (New York Times)
