For the past several months, the Chronicle of Philanthropy has been tracking emergency funds. We would like to keep an ongoing list available on our website. Has your organization launched a new fund to respond to recent policy changes, or have you heard of any? Please let us know at editormail@philanthropy.com.

Federal spending cuts enacted during the first months of the Trump administration will put pressure on local governments and nonprofits, shifting the responsibility for funding a wide range of programs to the states, or cutting them altogether. One place where the impact will be severe: New Mexico, which faces squeezes in social services, arts, land management, and other areas. A survey of 200 nonprofits commissioned by three New Mexico foundations found that 20 percent received at least half of their funding from federal grants, which are now in jeopardy. (New York Times)
