Nonprofit News From Elsewhere Online

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the nonprofit that has distributed funds to support public television and radio stations for nearly 60 years, will end operations in September. That follows passage of measures that would withhold more than $1 billion in previously allocated funds and deny funds going forward. Many of the more than 1,500 Public Broadcasting System stations have said they face enormous challenges without the federal support provided by the corporation. (Wall Street Journal — subscription)
