Nonprofit News From Elsewhere Online

The Robin Hood Foundation offers an example of how to sound the alarm about federal safety-net cuts without appearing to be part of the “Trump resistance” and turning off conservative donors. The anti-poverty nonprofit, which has long had a “big tent” of donors, has been reaching out to supporters, including some who have worked in high positions in the Trump administration. And it has educated its board, which also includes a mix of politically prominent players, about what federal cuts mean to the charities it supports. At its annual fundraising gala on Monday, it saw the approach paying off, as it raised $71 million, $2 million more than last year. (New York Times)
