Nonprofit News From Elsewhere Online

Climate- and environment-focused nonprofits are laying off staff and scaling back their work as the Trump administration has cut billions in grants they had expected to receive. Some are suing the administration and Citibank, which holds frozen grant accounts, and some are concentrating on state and local projects instead of federal work. Meanwhile, some private funders are wary of stepping up, lest they run afoul of the White House, but even those who have increased their giving warn that they cannot fill the gap left by rescinded federal funds.
