Nonprofit News From Elsewhere Online

More than 100 public radio and television organizations, some of which operate multiple stations, are at risk of closing in the wake of Congress’s vote last week to claw back $1.1 billion in federal funds for public broadcasting. The crucial moment will come in the fall, as the stations are funded through September. In the meantime, the stations are trying to figure out how to replace the federal funds, which for some make up a significant chunk of their budget, and a public media advisory firm “has begun to speak with philanthropists and foundations about possible solutions.” (New York Times)
