Nonprofit News From Elsewhere Online

The Senate has voted to strip $9 billion in federal funding from foreign aid and public broadcasting, at the request of the Trump administration. Among the cuts is $1.1 billion for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which opponents warned would devastate local stations. Foreign aid cuts included “funding for refugees, democracy promotion, and the United Nations.” Spared was $400 million that the administration had sought to cut for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. The measure now moves to the House for a vote. (Washington Post)
