The mammoth budget bill just signed into law has expanded child-care provisions, thanks at least in part to the nonprofit Moms First. Among its victories were a permanent expansion of the child and dependent care tax credit, a more generous tax credit for employer-provided child care, and a higher cap on pre-tax dependent care assistance plans.
