Nonprofit News From Elsewhere Online

The mammoth budget bill just signed into law has expanded child-care provisions, thanks at least in part to the nonprofit Moms First. The organization corralled businesses including UPS, Toyota, and Mazda, along with parents across the political spectrum, to lobby Congress. Among its victories were a permanent expansion of the child and dependent care tax credit, a more generous tax credit for employer-provided child care, and a higher cap on pre-tax dependent care assistance plans.
