The smash musical “Hamilton” has pulled out of next year’s celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary at the Kennedy Center, with its creative team citing President Trump’s takeover of the national cultural center. Trump fired Democratic members of the center’s bipartisan board and installed himself as chairman. “It became untenable for us to participate in an organization that had become so deeply politicized,” lead producer Jeffrey Seller said. Richard Grenell, the center’s new president, accused “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda of being “intolerant of people who don’t agree with him politically.” Miranda and Seller said the show would play at a soon-to-be-announced alternative venue in Washington, D.C.
