The conservative Heritage Foundation has sent a plan to Jewish organizations to identify Wikipedia’s anonymous volunteer editors in an effort to combat what it deems antisemitism on the site. The think tank’s methods would include “creating fake Wikipedia user accounts to try to trick editors into identifying themselves by sharing personal information or clicking on malicious tracking links that can identify people who click on them.” It’s not clear what Heritage would do with that information. A Wikipedia panel called the Anti-Defamation League a “generally unreliable source” on the Israel-Gaza war, and some Jewish groups have accused Wikipedia of broader bias against Israel. A Heritage Foundation spokesperson declined to answer questions, and the Wikimedia Foundation declined to comment. (Forward)

A group of artist-activists that uses billboard art to engage voters is trying to measure its impact and chart a path forward after Donald Trump’s re-election. The nonprofit For Freedoms calls itself anti-partisan, although it syncs its billboard campaigns with national elections. Leaders of the group acknowledge that its messages, such as “Love Over Rules” and “Why Doubt My Experience?” can confuse viewers, but some embrace the uncertainty and say the group “tries to think in longer arcs than current events.” For Freedoms’ backers include Andrea Soros, daughter of George Soros; Agnes Gund, a Museum of Modern Art board member; and musician Alicia Keys.
