Online Giving to Education Grew 13% in First Half of 2018

Summary: Powered by a 33 percent increase in the number of gifts greater than $1,000, educational institutions using the fundraising platform saw the average size of an online gift grow 18 percent in the first half of 2018 compared with the first half of 2016, according to a new report from the fundraising-software company.

  • Schools, colleges, and universities raised an average of over 13 percent more in the first half of 2018 compared with the same period in 2017.
  • Organizations saw nearly 12 percent more donors during the first half of this year compared with the first half of the previous year.
  • Last year saw enormous growth in online giving for the organizations that provided data: They brought in an average of 31 percent more in 2017 than they did in 2016.
