New Leaders at Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation and Orange County United Way

Daniel Wilhelm, formerly of the Vera Institute of Justice, is taking charge at the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation.

Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation

Daniel Wilhelm joined the foundation as president. He has been serving as a senior fellow at Vera Institute of Justice in New York City, where he was previously vice president and chief program officer.

Mr. Wilhelm will succeed Josiah Bunting III, who stepped down from the Guggenheim fund in 2016 after 12 years at the helm. The foundation, which was created in 1929, supports research and programs on violence and conflict resolution.

Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation for Italy

Karole Vail, a curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, was appointed director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation for Italy and director of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.

Miami New Drama

Florencia Jimenez-Marcos, managing partner at the advisory and investment firm Biscayne Bay Group, will become the arts nonprofit’s first executive director.

Orange County United Way

Susan Parks was named executive director. She is the co-founder and chief executive of iCount Wellness at WalkStyles Incorporated, a corporate-wellness program.

Other notable appointments:

Jennifer Hendrick, director of development and major gifts at Advocate Health Care, will become the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s first chief development officer.

Laney Kapgan was appointed vice president for development and communications at U.S. VETS. She was previously chief development officer at the Venice Family Clinic, an affiliate of the University of California at Los Angeles Health System.

Lisa Baragar Katz, founding executive director of the Workforce Intelligence Network, will step down to serve as senior program officer for economic vitality and entrepreneurship at the William Davidson Foundation.

Larry Scott, chief financial officer at Three Square Food Bank, was appointed the Las Vegas charity’s chief operating officer.

Departures:

Rick Moyers, vice president for programs and communications at the Meyer Foundation, will step down on July 14 after 14 years with the grant maker.

Legacies:

Susan Ross, who served as president of the Fairfield County Community Foundation for 15 years, died on May 17 after battling cancer.
