Adrienne Arsht, the former chairman of TotalBank, has announced that she will donate $30-million to Miami’s performing-arts center, reports Bloomberg News.
Ms. Arsht, who sold TotalBank last year for $300-million, said she plans to spread the donation over three years, first to pay off a bank loan for the center and then to support performances.
Miami’s Carnival Center for the Performing Arts, named for Carnival Corporation, the cruise-ship operator, will be renamed the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. The center houses the Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet, the New World Symphony, and the Concert Association of Florida.
