How Nonprofit Endowments Performed

By  Peter Olsen-Phillips and
Brian O’Leary
May 31, 2017

This interactive database has information on hundreds of nonprofit endowments going back to 2003. Search for organizations by name or by type to see returns, market values, investment choices, and more. “Nonprofit Assets, Earnings, and Expenditures” and “Private Foundation Investment” use data that organizations provided to the Internal Revenue Service. “Latest Assets and Investment Details” supplements the IRS data by providing more up-to-date and in-depth information from The Chronicle’s exclusive endowment survey. See the Chronicle’s latest reporting on endowments, and how it compiled the data.
